CLIENT
Okie Dokie is a digital platform connecting child, adult, senior and pet caregivers to those in need of caregiving services and products. Since 2013 they offered at-home babysitting services under the company “Okie Dokie at Home”, but later near 2020, they decided they wanted to expand to adult and pet care. With the new services, they needed help creating a new brand identity and a new app where they could manage all the caregiving services.
OUR SOLUTION
Create a platform that connects care providers with individuals in need of caregiving services. Two apps were designed. One app was designed to allow care providers to create profiles, list their services, and specify their availability. Another app was created to allow individuals in need of caregiving services to add their care receiver needs, view available services, browse through profiles, and book a service.
RESEARCH & DEFINING SITEMAP
We research existing apps to identify their strengths and weaknesses, as well as to gather inspiration for our design. Once the research was completed, we created a sitemap to map out the different pages and sections of each app.
USER FLOW & LOW FI MOCKUP
After sitemap approval, we developed a detailed user flow which outlined how users will navigate through the apps. This helped us identify potential issues and ensure the app was easy to use. From this, we created a rough sketch of the app’s layout and design.
INTERACTIVE MOCKUP
Once we refined all the necessary features in the sketch, we created a detailed interactive design that included a preview of how the final product will look and work.
PROGRAMMING
After making all the changes needed in the design, we started the programming phase. This involved writing the code that brings the app to life. After development, the app was tested thoroughly to fix bugs and issues.
RESULTS
After the launch, the team closely monitored the app’s progress and user engagement, and they were pleased to see that it had quickly gained traction. Within just a few months, the app managed to register 145 providers and 156 clients, which was an impressive achievement.
